This trek that consists of going from the Juri Khota lagoon located in Tuni Condoriri to the base of Huayna Potosi is one of the most famous for those who do not want to spend many days but want a unique experience, certainly highly recommended for those who want to acclimatize.

Day 1.

La Paz – Juri Khota

Departure from La Paz at 8 am in our private vehicle to Tuni Condoriri, where we will leave the car in the place called “La arrinconada”.
We start the ascent and pass through a hill at 4,900 m. altitude, before descending to the Laguna Juri Khota (4 hours of walking). From there we have a beautiful view of the “Cabeza del Condor” (5,700 m.) and the mountain of Kuchill Khunu (Cuchillo de Nieve) or also called the “Left Wing”.

Day 2.

Juri Khota – Chiar Khota

From Laguna Juri Khota we start surrounding the lake and then ascend a steep slope to reach the Ventanani lagoon (4,900m), we continue climbing until we reach the Austria pass (5,150m), our last stop will be to climb the Austria Peak (5,350m) and descend to our next camp in Chiar Khota lagoon where we will spend the night.

Day 3.

Chiar Khota – Maria Lloco

In the same way we start to eat early, today’s pass is Jistaña (4,900m), which takes us to the Racahcha valley, continuing our route we finally arrive to the María Lloco Valley, place where we will camp (4,600 m.).

Day 4.

Maria Lloco – Huayna Potosi

Our last pass is that of Huallatani or Maria Lloco (4,850 m). From here on a clear day we can enjoy the impressive views of the mountains of Maria Lloco and the imposing Huayna Potosi.
Our last stop will be the base camp of Huayna Potosi where the vehicle will be waiting for us to return to La Paz.
